Email Tips & Tricks-2:00pm-2:45pm, Room 322
Synopsis:
In this session a basic Email vocabulary will be covered helping to introduce new, and even experienced, users to the vast possibilities afforded by any number of email programs. An overview of the various ways to setup email clients, and the different options available, will also be discussed, and a number of email applications will be compared with pros and cons of each noted.
The Instructor: Chris Waldrip has been an avid Mac user for years, and fondly remembers the pre-world wide web days of the internet. Currently he's employed by a major cable news network based in Atlanta (*ahem*) doing deskside technical support and special projects.

Setting Up a Wireless Network-11:00am-11:45am, Room 328
Synopsis:
Learn the beginning steps to setting up your own wireless network, including starting a network from scratch or to add wireless to an already existing home network. We'll also take a look at the current hardware available for wireless networks (including the new 802.11g wireless products) and compare their "Mac friendliness." Tips on securing your wireless network and getting older Macs onto a wireless network will also be covered.
The Instructor: Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, David was introduced to the Macintosh in 1986 during his high school journalism classes. After laying out his first newspaper, he fell in love with the Mac and hasn't looked back. David has spent the past five years marketing software, and is currently Manger of Electronic Marketing for Peachtree Software.

InDesign-1:00pm-1:45pm, Room 328
Synopsis:
See what the buzz about Adobe InDesign is all about! If you haven't seen Adobe's fabulous page layout product in action, here's your chance. See the creative possibilities afforded by being able to place native Photoshop and Illustrator files, create soft shadows right in a page layout, and use transparency and blending modes for striking effects. Learn tips about InDesign's interface, and find out ways to prepare your InDesign files for print. If you're starting to use InDesign (or even if you're an experienced user), it's a great opportunity to have your questions answered.
The Instructor: Claudia McCue has more years of experience in graphic arts than she cares to admit, from conventional through digital production. She was one of the first to push pixels around on digital retouching systems, in the days when pixels came in only 256 colors. She excels at putting technical concepts into understandable and humorous terms, accessible to even the inexperienced user. Claudia is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including the PDF Conferences, Training Magazine's annual Expo, Sunbelt Graphics, and the Seybold PDF Power Panel. She is a principal in Practicalia, an Adobe Certified Training Provider based in Atlanta, specializing in custom onsite training for Adobe and other products. She holds current Adobe Certified Expert status in Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat, and is the Chapter Representative (and Mother Hen) of the Atlanta InDesign Users' Group.

Synopsis:
Still using Mac OS 9 and want to learn more about Apple's classic operating system? Then this basic class is for you. We'll break down all the jargon as we cover the basics of OS 9.

The Instructor: Barry Hawkins is a native Atlantan. He is an IT consultant currently under contract developing databases and web applications on several platforms for the Social Security Administration. He also provides consultation and professional services through his company, All Things Computed. He and his wife Laura life in Virginia Highland with their miniature schnauzer, Sadie.

3-D Animation Using Maya-10:00am-12:00pm, Room 208
Synopsis:
This class will be an overview of terms and terminology of 3-D animation, and a little of how 3-D animation done with Maya. Some examples of what can be done with Maya will also be availabe. This class is trained towards 3-D novices and graphics people with no experience at 3-D but an interest in 3-D animation.

Final Cut Pro-1:00pm-3:00pm, Room 418
Synopsis:
If iMovie is just a little too limited, come and check out Final Cut Pro! Final Cut Pro is more flexible tool than iMovie, and is used by many commercial outfits for editing video. This class will be aimed towards the "pro-sumers", the people who are interested in doing things just beyond the standard set of what iMovie can do.

Color Correction-11:00am-12:00pm, Room 461
Synopsis:
With the explosion of digital cameras and ink-jet printers, getting good color reproduction from capture to print is now in your control. So how do we get better color? We will be conducting a series of one hour sessions throughout the day on how to get better color from our camera by learning how to utilizing their various settings. We will then show how to bring this image into Photoshop correctly and color correct the image. Finally we will show how to get the best possible results from the printer.

2-D Animation with Flash-1:00pm-3:00pm, Room 240
Synopsis:
This class will cover the uses of Flash for 2-D animation. Starting with the basics of 2-D animation, we÷ll show how you can accomplish small animation projects using Flash as a resource. This class should leave you with some basic knowledge, which will give you a foundation to build small animation projects.

Mac OS X and Unix-10:00am-11:00am, Room 400
Synopsis:
Mac OS X revolutionized the Macintosh, by bringing to the Macintosh the power of Unix. Find out about this new world, where Mac and Unix combine. This class will show some of the things that are available on the Unix level. Some background on why and how Mac OS X is combined with Unix will be given. This class is aimed at a high graphics/power-user level, someone who knows Mac OS 9 well.
