I like the new forum, it looks really nice and seems to perform quite well. I have a few questions for those of you that implemented it, since I'm looking to setup a forum for a website as well.

Were there other forum software you were considering?
What were they?
Why did you end up using SMF?

We looked at several products (phpBB, GeekLog, etc), but SMF was one of the easier products to modify and has a very active developer community.

That and you can easily make child boards inside of other boards. I'm a sucker for the little things. ;-)
