News: Sorry about the outage folks.  Not sure what happened.  But things are back the way they were and should be good to go.  -Lawrence 11/8/08

The subject line pretty much says it all. I have a G5 with an Internet connection, and a wireless Ethernet hub that allows my wife to access the Internet with her PC. Is it possible to get her computer to show up as a complete hard disk on the desktop of my G5? And, if so, can I use my Retrospect for the Mac to back up that hard disk?

Interesting. Never heard of it. Looking at the trial version now. It'll be interesting to get Lee's opinion of this app.

I just learned of the new Xbase product for OS X. Does anyone know anything about it, and how it compares to FileMaker? I'm intrigued.

Hey Todd,

I  really like the question mark you use for your forum image.

Okay, my guess is that when you close the browser or leave the page you are automatically logged out of most sites. Maybe companies leave the "log out" option to give their visitors a sense of closure or completion.

Or maybe it's a marketing strategy -- as you search for the sign-out you'll find more stuff to buy on their site.

This is definitely something to ponder.

Todd

Is it just me, or do others agree that the Sign-out, or Log-out, buttons on most secure web sites are deliberately hidden, or hard to find. If they are deliberate, then why?   Huh

Consolidation is a natural, worldwide trend. One day there will only be one, large, supper company called MicroApple.

Story is poorly reported, but the comments are better (though some are really stupid). I like comments 2, 6, 8, 10, 11.
