Sell for parts or repair?

I've gotten an older PowerBook back from my daughter that I gave her a while back. It's the 667 Titanium VGA model. It works fine but the screen is acting up. I've done a lot of trouble shooting on it and it's definitely a hardware problem. I'm getting the vertical candy stripes or a blank screen. Gentle pinching near the esc key, or gentle pressure or torque on the screen causes rapid changes. The bottom line is that it's the connection between the screen and the logic board. A reboot always gives you a fresh screen but it won't last.
Now for my question, should I attempt to dismantle to find the culprit wire? I've got the free download take-apart manual from MacFixIt and I've been into this thing before to replace the memory, optical drive, and bigger hard drive. I probably won't be able to recognize a bad connection anyway.
The other option is to part the thing out. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Well, as much as it pains me to say it, I'd say sell it for parts. Although don't hold out much hope of getting too much for it. It might just be easier to retire it permanently.

Chris,
You're probably right. I think I'll just part it out myself. A quick check on eBay shows that they can actually be sold. I'll list out the good stuff on AMUG first and give the group first dibs.

If this has a superdrive, I'll start the bidding! I want one of those for my titanium. Is this the VGA or the DVI?
