This forum has died since we moved to the new board. I think I'll spice things up a bit. How about, the VFW and their shabby treatment of Tammy Duckworth - not counting their false charges against Senator John Kerry?
There is a standard questionaire that all organizations send out to candidates that they might endorse. Tammy was never sent one. Instead, the VFW endorsed some clown named Peter Roskham - who has absolutely no connection to being a veteran.
For those who don't know, Tammy lost both legs to an RPG while flying her helicopter. She is running as a Democrat, so maybe the VFW ain't so friendly to Dems?
If you wimp out on Tammy, I'm prepared to defend Kerry's joke, as well. Bring it on, or are all the old flamers gone?

Oh, yeah. I've heard of her. She's running in Illinois.

Considering the treatment that Max Cleland received at the hands of the RNC, I'm surprised they haven't burned her in effigy yet.

Seems not to matter the veracity of your military service, if you speak against the administration and the war you're practically guilty of treason, or an Orwellean thoughtcrime in newspeak. Of course the RNC seems to be adhering to the definition of blackwhite in newspeak too. This is getting really scary.

Well, tomorrow's vote should tell. If the public still wants "Big Brother", then all I can do is look for my safe haven in the southern hemisphere. If the dems get control, then I'm looking forward to the investigations that will surely emerge.

Yeah, I don't have much faith in the Dems. Investigations would be good (accountability is the hallmark of an open Democracy). If they win on Tuesday that doesn't mean they won't screw something up over the next two years and blow the next Presidential election. I hope they're wrong, but it'll be interesting to see.

I wonder if I can get a transfer to Hong Kong or Vancouver.
