BTW - I *like* the calendar feature A LOT. Wonder if it is iCal compatible?

Well, funny that you mention that. There's a mod about to be updated that will allow you to import events into iCal, but it shouldn't be too much more work to let folks subscribe to it.
- vCal/iCal Downloads
- Event Attendees List
- Location field for Events
- Max Attendees for Events

Future features to include...
- Event organizer field (defaults to the user entering the event)
- Option to private message event organizer when someone signs up to attend.
- Option to define the type of list displayed (comma separated or table)
