Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what problems might I be getting myself into if I format and run an Ultra ATA/133 hard drive on a bus that seems to top out at 100?  I bought an inexpensive Maxtor Ultra 200GB Ultra ATA/133 drive and want to use it in an MDD G4, but I believe that the internal bus tops out at 100.  Just for yucks (since it was a new drive and "expendable"), I put it in and was able to format it using Disk Utility where it was recognized as a 189GB drive.

Am I asking for problems?  Will I see some performance degradation because I'm not running it on an ATA/133 bus?  Is my data at risk?  Can I buy a PCI card in the future and move the drive over to it or will I have to reformat it first?  Am I asking too many questions?

Yes. It will run fine.

No idea about the reformating if you put in a PCI card (which I wouldn't do, myself, cause you won't see a noticable benefit from it)
