Masquerade... converted to Condos?!?!?!

Management finally gave up on keeping the music club The Masquerade (est. 1988) open at the end of last year. But I'd hoped that someone else would buy the building and continue to bring smaller bands to town. Heck, I'd have been happy with a restaurant (it use to be a Mellow Mushroom, iirc).

But now the old Excelsior Mill (built 1895) has been bought by a development group that looks to convert the building into loft-style apartments. 

At least the building will be remaining (from what I understand).

I heard about that today at lunch with some co-workers. Really surprised all of us. Wonder when they'll turn the Fabulous Fox into lofts or a shopping mall?
