Does anybody know how to transfer a Google Video webcast to a video i-Pod?  Will i-squint do this?

You're over complicating things.

You can download Google Videos straight to iPod format. Once downloaded you have to drag it into iTunes (see first screenshot).

If you want to get video from YouTube you need a utility like TubeSock. TubeSock will automatically load the video into iTunes (see second screenshot).

Thanks, Chris!!  If the webcast has already been downloaded to the computer (under Movies), and plays from there, do I go back and download it again in I-Pod format to get it to the video I-Pod, or can I work from the downloaded file in Movies?

If you can drag the video into iTunes then I think you can convert it to iPod Video format. Otherwise you'll probably want to just re-download it.
