It is about 8 or 9 months old.
CD Disk drive does not recognize disk when inserted, nor can I eject it.
It does not show up on Desktop.

I have tried everything mentioned in 2 manuals, "Missing" and another....

any ideas?

I did not sign up for the 3 years maintance plan....

I hate to take it to Apple but I will. Just don't wish to spend money on that right now.

Help! please!

Whoops just found my receipt....bought it last year Aug. 23, 2005. Beyond any warranty now. Darn.

Update: I got it out by,

1) reboot, holding down both sides of an external mouse, and then pressing the F12 eject button all at about the same time. Now am fearful to use the drive again...

any adivse....

any wisdom???

This same thing happened to my powerbook and I got it out using the good ole' terminal....and that was 2 years ago.  It has worked fine since.  I think you will be fine.  Grin
