I have tried FireFox as my alternate browser and am very happy with it. WHen Safari doesn't work I use FireFox and so far that handles my needs. FireFox is nice in that it either uses or automatically imports all my Safari stuff so the book marks are in the bookmarks in FireFox too without me having to do anything else. Very nice.
